Join the Beacon Gardens team along with Matt Phillips of Prides Corner Nursery for a stroll through Beacon’s beautiful nursery as we discuss new hydrangea varieties, old favorites and tips & techniques for continued success. From landscape stunners to long lasting arrangements, this versatile flower can do it all.

The presentation will begin at 9:00AM outside by the Market at Beacon Gardens. Matt will remain after the walk to answer questions and give advice on anything to do with hydrangeas, from planting, to maintaining, to arranging and more.

Come with questions for an informative open discussion, plus raffles and prizes. New gardeners encouraged!

Celebrate the beauty of hydrangea season on Cape Cod by creating your own framed coastal-inspired artwork! In this relaxed, hands-on class, participants will design an 8×8 framed and matted hydrangea piece using sea glass, shells, and other natural materials. No experience is needed—just bring your creativity and love of hydrangeas and the sea.

You’ll leave with a finished piece ready to display in your home or give as a heartfelt handmade gift.

Perfect for visitors and locals alike looking to take home a little piece of Cape Cod’s hydrangea magic. Registration is required; this class is appropriate for ages 12 and up.

Learn what makes each plant unique, how to care for them with confidence, and simple ways to combine them in garden beds and patio containers for long-lasting color, texture, and garden activity.

You’ll leave with practical pairing ideas that support pollinators while creating beautiful, easy-to-enjoy outdoor spaces.

Meet the Hydrangea Whisperer of Chatham Bars Inn

For a decade, Pamela Vasques has been the heart and soul behind the world-class landscapes at Chatham Bars Inn. As a 10-year veteran of the property, she doesn’t just manage the grounds; she treats every inch of the hotel gardens as if they were her own. While she is famously known as the Hydrangea Whisperer, Pamela’s expertise covers the entire botanical experience at the Inn.

Of course, the star of the show remains the hydrangeas. Pamela oversees a staggering 6,000 hydrangea plants, personally ensuring the collection grows by 300 new plantings every single year.

Pamela’s passion for horticulture has caught the eye of media outlets across the globe. She has been featured by Mo Rocca on CBS Sunday Morning, appeared on CBS Nightly News and Channel 7 Local News, and more.
