Summertime Blues Chaste Tree is a compact easy care deciduous shrub with dense dark-green lance-like foliage on black stems. The large panicles of fragrant lavender flowers bloom through summer. Flowers are highly attractive to butterflies and bees. Flowers best withfull sun and moist well-drained soils. Performs well in the deep south and has excellent drought tolerance.
MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Water regularly. Prune as wanted in spring to promote blooms. Leaf spot and root rot are occasional problems. LANDSCAPE USES: Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Wildlife Gardens, Hedges, Foundation Plantings, and Containers.
