Encore Raspberry is an upright deciduous shrub that is nearly thornless and has a high production of large, firm, extremely sweet fruit that ripens in early summer. Its small but attractive spring bloom of pink flowers attracts pollinators. Grows best in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils. Encore is self-pollinating and resistant to root rot.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Medium Maintenance. Intolerant of wet soils- can lead to root rot. Prune fruiting canes and weak canes immediately after fruiting, and as needed in winter. Remove suckers and trimmings to prevent rooting. Anthracnose, botrytis and root rot can be serious problems. Cane and crown borers are potential serious pests.
