Virginia Rose is a native deciduous shrub with glossy green foliage that turns shades of purple, orange, or yellow in fall. The pale pink single flowers bloom in summer.  Best grown with full sun  in rich and moist well-drained, lightly acidic soils. Edible scarlet hips persist into winter.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance. Roses are susceptible to powdery mildew, black spot, rust, and rose rosette and require regular fungicide in humid areas that experience a lot of rainfall.  Pest issues include aphids, borers, scale, mites thrips, midges, and leafhoppers.
