Royal Raindrops Crabapple is a small deciduous tree grown more for its brilliant floral display than its fruit, and has an upright spreading habit and dense branching.  Its showy spring bloom begins in mid spring as the foliage emerges coating the branches in a bright magenta pink flowers.

The foliage emerges a rich purple that compliments the flowers before maturing to green and earns a lovely mix of red and orange tones for fall.  Its red fruits are persistent and can ad winter interest.

Grows best in full sun and well-drained soils. Royal Raindrops is disease and pest resistant, and can tolerate urban conditions, drought, and clay soils.
