Puffer Fish Hydrangea paniculata is a compact deciduous shrub with a tight mounding habit and dense flowering of fluffy white blooms that nearly obscure the foliage.  These flower panicles bloom through summer and open white before, turn lime green with white tips, and ages to pink in fall.   While can tolerate full sun, its best blooms are in part sun and rich, moist well-drained acidic soils.
