Heather is a dense mat-forming evergreen shrub that can be used as a groundcover, with needle like foliage. The bell shaped flowers bloom on one-sided raceme beginning in late winter and can continue to mid spring. Best bloom in part sun and rich, consistently moist, well-drained acidic soils.
