Chicagoland Green Boxwood is a uniformly oval evergreen shrub with a dense compact habit.  Its fine, bright green leaves will stay green in shade, or bronze in winter if planted in full sun.  Small clusters of yellow flowers bloom in spring.  Prefers part shade and well-drained soils, as it is prone to burning if planted in full sun Drought tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Some susceptibility to blight and leaf spots. Root rot can be a problem in poorly drained soils.  The main pests are leaf miners, psyllids and mites.  New growth is susceptible to winter damage.
