Newport Blue Boxwood is a slow-growing evergreen shrub with a natural columnar habit that fills out and small blue green foliage year round.  Inconspicuous flowers.  Grows best in partial shade areas in well-drained soils.  Drought tolerant once established, but prone to burning in full sun. Deer resistant and takes well to pruning.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Some susceptibility to blight and leaf spots. Root rot can be a problem in poorly drained soils.  The main pests are leaf miners, psyllids and mites.  New growth is susceptible to winter damage.
