Breton Blue Andromeda

Andromeda polifolia 'Breton Blue'

Breton Blue Andromeda is a low-spreading evergreen shrub grown as groundcover with narrow, dark blue-green foliage reminiscent of rosemary.  The curving pink umbels create hanging clusters of pale pink lantern ball shaped flowers that bloom from late spring into summer.  Best bloom in part sun with rich and moist to wet well-drained acidic soils. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: High Maintenance.  No series pests or diseases.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Woodland Gardens, Wildlife Gardens, Foundation Plantings, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Rhododendron, Fothergilla, Yellow Flag Iris
