Clematis is a a group of climbing or spreading perennial vine with glossy, leathery foliage that can be deciduous or evergreen depending on the cultivar. The large flowers come in various colors and shapes that can bloom from late spring to fall, if reblooming.  Prefers full sun and moist well-drained soil.  Needs support.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Susceptible to wilt and stem rot, which can be fatal.  Other potential diseases include powdery mildew, leaf spots, and rust. Potential insect pests include aphids, vine weevils, slugs/snails, scale and earwigs. Watch for spider mites. If possible, plant the roots in the area with afternoon shade and climb the foliage into full sun for best results.
