Sweet Fern is an upright spreading native deciduous shrub with deeply notched aromatic dark green foliage resembling a fern frond and turns a nice red before browning in fall.  Its insignificant greenish flower blooms in spring and is followed by brown burr-like nuggets.  Easily grows in average well-drained soil.  Drought tolerant.
