Bearberry is a beautiful native evergreen shrub with creeping stems that forms a dense mat. Its teardrop shaped deep green foliage emerges chartreuse and earns bronze to burgundy tones in winter. The small bell shaped flowers can be pink or white and bloom in early spring. Attractive red berries display in fall and winter. Grows best in poor, dry to average, well-drained acidic soils.  Tolerates drought, salt, and poor soils.
