Umbrella Pine is a slow-growing evergreen conifer tree with a dense conical form when young that becomes broadly pyramidal as the branches open to become horizontal.  The umbrella like whorls of soft dark green needles can have as many as 20-30 needles per whorl.  It prefers full sun and rich, well-draining, lightly acidic soil.  Does not tolerate drought or urban pollution.
