Kosteri Hinoki Cypress is a dwarf evergreen conifer shrub with a slowly growing loose pyramidal habit and ascending branches. The horizontal splays of bright green scale-like leaves bronze in winter. Best color in full sun and average well-drained soil. Very drought tolerant once established, and deer resistant.
MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Water regularly but needs well-drained soil. Juniper blight, root rot, and certain insect pests such as bagworms can be issues if soil to wet. Shelter from hard winds.
LANDSCAPE USES: Specimen or Groups plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Rock Garden, Foundation Planting, Hedges, and Containers.
