Heather is a dense mat-forming evergreen shrub that can be used as a groundcover, with needle like foliage. The bell shaped flowers bloom on one sided raceme beginning in late winter and can continue to mid spring. Best bloom in part sun and rich, consistently moist, well-drained acidic soils.
