Red Sunset Red Maple is a deciduous tree with a pyramidal habit at youth that rounds with age noted for its early and long lasting fall color.  Its new growth - stems and twigs included- is tinted red before maturing to green and the foliage takes on a bright orange-red to brilliant red color in fall.  Inconspicuous red spring flowers.  Grows best in rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Red Sunset is a male selection.
