Red D'Anjou Pear is a fast-growing deciduous tree with an upright habit and attractive spring flower display but primarily grown for its crop of large late summer fruit.  Clusters of fragrant of white flowers bloom in mid spring.  The large aromatic fruits have a short neck and russet skin with mild melting flesh.  Grows best in full sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.

Red D'Anjou has improved resistance to fire blight, needs a cross-pollinator (compatible with Asian Pears as well) , and has a chill requirement of 800 hours.
