Three Flower Maple is a deciduous tree with a rounded crown in sun or upright spreading crown in shade and pealing bark. The lightly fuzzed compound leaflets turn brilliant orange, scarlet, purple and gold in fall. Inconspicuous flowers come in clusters of three, hence the name. Tolerates any light, and grows best in well-drained acidic soils. Transplants easily and keeps good fall color in shade.
