Purple Pillar Rose of Sharon is a tall woody shrub with a long columnar habit and deep green toothed maple like foliage.  Semi-double lavender crepe-paper flowers with broad dark red centers bloom from midsummer until the first frost attracting butterflies.  Best bloom in full sun and moist well-drained soils.
